Top Myths About Working with a Life Coach in Denver – And Why You Might Want to Try It

You’ve probably heard of life coaching—but maybe you're not sure what it really involves. You’ve tried pushing through things on your own. You’ve talked to friends or maybe even someone at church, but something’s still missing. You're looking for a spiritual approach that actually helps you move forward. And you’ve noticed: not many life coaches in Central Denver offer that.

Life coaches can be found in private practice—and no two are exactly alike. People come with different experiences, beliefs, and backgrounds. If you’ve been through tough stuff or just want a coach whose values match yours, that’s totally valid.

Let’s walk through a few myths that often stop people from giving life coaching a shot. And if your concern isn’t on this list, just give me a call for a free 15-minute consultation—I’d love to hear what’s going on.

Myth #1: Life Coaching with a Counselor Who is a Christian Is Only for Christians

Not true. While I bring a Christian worldview into my coaching, you don’t have to be a Christian to work with me. I’m open and respectful, we can work together on whatever challenges you're facing—whether they're personal, emotional, or spiritual.

Myth #2: Life Coaches Only Talk About Motivation or Goals

Life coaching can definitely help you set goals—but that’s not all it’s about. My specialties are helping people in recovery and/or those who want to grow through Christian counseling. That includes emotional healing, navigating your faith journey, and rebuilding life after things like addiction, burnout, or spiritual disconnection.

I bring both personal experience and professional training to the table. I’m a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Colorado and a Master’s Level Therapist. That means you’re getting more than surface-level coaching—we go deep, and we do it safely and intentionally.

Myth #3: Life Coaches Aren’t as Qualified as Therapists

It depends on the coach. Some life coaches are more like mentors. Others (like me) are trained professionals with years of experience. If you're unsure, you can always look someone up through the Colorado DORA website to check their background and credentials.

In my sessions, I take a holistic approach to healing and growth. We tackle one issue at a time, using some methods that help you connect with yourself like:

  • NET (muscle testing)

  • TFT (tapping on meridian points)

  • EMDR (for processing emotional and spiritual pain)

If you’d like, we also integrate prayer and Scripture into sessions. The goal? To help you feel more grounded, calm, and connected—both inside and out.

So, Why Try Life Coaching?

Because you don’t have to stay stuck. Whether you’re rebuilding after addiction, questioning your faith, or just trying to find your way again, life coaching can help bring clarity, hope, and healing.

Together, we’ll create a plan that fits your life and your goals. If faith is important to you, we’ll honor that. If you’re in recovery, we’ll use tools that work—from 12-step wisdom to evidence-based practices like CBT or DBT.
