A New Perspective on What Acupuncture Can Do

 Dear Readers -

Here is something new for the following weeks of blogs by a Christian counselor. This is one interview in a series with people of the Denver community in an affiliated profession that are or have been a resource for support and care. Counseling is simply one way to resolve health issues that show up as physical ailments. Although Denise is now mostly retired, her approach shows what acupuncture treatment can look like and accomplish.

Denise Ellinger Moran, L.Ac. is an experienced acupuncturist who was president of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and owner of the now-closed Center for Rejuvenation Acupuncture, LLC. She has been practicing in Denver since 2001. Her specialties are Cosmetic Acupuncture, chronic conditions, pain syndromes, digestive issues, and fertility issues. Her holistic approach includes dietary therapy.

Q1: Can you tell us about AcuBeauty and what inspired you to start this acupuncture business in Denver?

I picked the "handle" acubeauty for my e-mail address because I was going to focus my acupuncture business on anti-aging. The name of the business was Center For Rejuvenation Acupuncture. I chose Denver for my business because of living here and the large population to draw clients.

Q2: What do you love most about practicing acupuncture at AcuBeauty?

Although mostly "retired", I have loved getting to know people on a level that you generally can't in allopathic health care. The challenge (I love) is diagnosing the root cause of what brought the patient to my office and the potential to help them avoid more invasive or toxic treatments.

Q3: What other services do you offer?

Generally speaking, I would offer the modalities that are within the scope of my licensure. Acupuncture is actually just one of the modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). Since my training included herbal training, some of the tools used in this medicine include: TCM food therapy, TCM herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, Tui Na, and Qi Gong.

Q4: Could you share a great memory or success story?

Helping a woman who had gone through two failed in vitro procedures, (and later) had a beautiful baby.

Q5: What do you hope clients take away from their experience at AcuBeauty in Denver?

My hope was always that I helped them have a healthier life both through the treatment and advice they received. My goal was to help them realize and gather tools to become their own healer as best as possible through their lifestyle.

Q6: Do you have a website and a blog? Is that you on Instagram?

I am not on any social media and no longer have a website or blog.
